summer reminders and notes to self

  • study. you want to learn and you’ll do fine if you really want it
  • read and write everyday. it will keep you sane
  • call your parents. they love you and you love them and maybe one day you’ll learn how to take it and show it
  • do not look for someone to fill your heart. it will never be filled until you line it with self-respect
  • get a job. be busy and productive
  • go to the beach and chase the waves. remember how alive you felt the last time you went in until the water was up to your chest? submerge your head underwater next time
  • have fun cooking. pasta, fruit, and salad for days, with experiments here and there
  • take pictures. it makes you more appreciative
  • walk into a new room or restaurant and absorb everything. have a keen eye for detail
  • paint. acrylic is your friend that cannot speak but listens ever so intently
  • go on night walks. it’ll help you breathe a bit easier and every now and then you’ll see a star or two. your favorite
  • when you wake up and everything is wrong, know that the next day may be different
  • accept that oftentimes you’ll wake up and it’ll feel wrong
  • accept that someday you’ll wake up and it’ll feel so right
  • everything is fine
  • you will be fine
